Here's a few ideas about adding the pipes to your wedding.

Every wedding is different, so planning to have a piper perform can be done in
many different ways.

Here are two scenarios that have worked well over the years, and are very effective in adding a touch of the highlands to your wedding.

At an outdoor wedding, it is a welcome addition to have the pipes play for 15 minutes or so, at a discreet distance while guests are being seated.  When the bridal party is in place, there are several options.  Playing for the family entrance, then a short pause to switch tunes, and playing for the bridesmaids & flowers/ring bearers if used.  Again a short pause, switching to one of the more traditional tunes for the brides entrance.  Afterwards, when announced as husband and wife, one of the more popular recessionals is the strike up the pipes, proceed to the couple, and escort them down the aisle with a upbeat tune such as "Scotland the Brave", continuing to play as guests leave the immediate area of the ceremony.

For an indoor wedding, playing outside the church/hall for a few minutes before the ceremony begins. As before, playing for each of the various  entrants works well, with the escort piping done as an outdoor wedding.

Here are quick recordings of some of the more popular tunes I’ve played for bridal processionals:

Lochaber No More

She Moved Through The Fair

The White Veil

Simple Gifts

Highland Cathedral

Another idea is to have a special song written for the brides entrance.  There is no extra charge for this and it only takes a few days to do.

Of course, every wedding is different, and I can work with almost any idea you can come up with.
