| My 1st CD - The track list is at the page bottom |
In response to numerous requests for
some sample music, I recorded this CD.. With the exception of the "live" and "smallpipe" tracks,
each tune listed below is a medley , starting with the song listed. These medleys are very common with both pipe bands
and individual pipers, but only represent a small sample of what I can play for your event. The live tracks were
recorded in Feb 2008, at the Boothbay Opera House. Also, all of the instruments on these CD's, (bagpipes, smallpipes,
violin, guitar, flute, banjo and harp are played by me)
To listen to the selections below, simply select the
tune, listen and enjoy.
1. The Piobaireachd of Donald Dhu
2. The Banks of Loch Eil
3. Mary of the Bewitching Eyes
4. Flowers of the Forest - Live*
* A traditional tune, Flowers of the Forest
is normally played at a slower tempo. The tempo here was a special request at the live show.
5. The Ballad of Jed Clampett **
6. The Ashoken Farewell
7. Hey, Tutti, Taitie
8. The Two Dollar Bill **
** Tracks 5 & 8 will be on my second CD, "Music from My
World", scheduled for release early 2012. Besides bagpipes, there are several banjo classics.

I recorded these tracks at the ScotMel Studio in Brunswick, Maine. The
only enhancement was to remove some background noise, and equalize tracks. The live tracks were recorded at the
Boothbay Opera House in Feb of 2008. The pipes used are Dunbar DB4's & Dunbar P4's, both now equipped
with EZ Drone reeds w/inverted bass, and Gilmour medium chanter reeds. Smallpipe tunes use John Walsh A-2000 & D-2000 Smallpipes.
The flute, called a Bansuri, is an ancient Hindustani bamboo instrument made by Sri Jeff Whittier. The violin was made by
Charles Veysey from New York in 1925, and the banjo is an Epiphone MB-250.
